HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP @ THE ART ROOM
ART ROOM is the Museum of New Art's sales gallery under the direction of Jessica Hopkins. It's purpose is to help provide funding for future museum exhibitions, projects, and overall operating costs. ART ROOM is open both Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm. Prices will begin from $50 upward for original art, framed and unframed. At the moment, the gallery can only accept cash or checks. Artist-in-Residence: Jef Bourgeau* lives and works on the museum campus. His art has exhibited in galleries and museums from New York to Hawaii, and from Japan to England, and is represented in important private and museum collections globally. His work and concepts have been written about in many publications and art journals, including: Art in America, Flash Art, Tema Celeste, Vanity Fair, NY Times, and Artforum; and in several books, including: Visual Shock by Michael Kammen (winner of the Pulitzer Prize), Cultural Policy by Toby Miller and George Yudice, and The Artist's Quest for Inspiration by Peggy Hadden. A Reminder: Upstairs in the museum proper, the Elene Usdin exhibition continues through November 16 - A Don't-Miss! while you're visiting as well. *Jef Bourgeau is represented by Robert Kidd Gallery in Michigan, and by BCB Gallery in New York.
